Blue Ivy shrugged off the challenge of her stablemate, Touchamatic, and rolled to victory in Tuesday’s $16,200 Filly & Mare Open Handicap Pace at The Meadows.
Blue Ivy sped to the lead from post 6 in a demanding 26.3, a quarter that might have left her vulnerable. But when Touchamatic moved uncovered from third, Blue Ivy found more for Aaron Merriman and triumphed in a career-fastest 1:50.2. Pace Baby Pace rallied for second, beaten a half-length, while Touchamatic saved show.
