Shanghai Lil closed from last in the seven-horse field as she stormed up the middle of the long Red Mile stretch, easily rushing past the field and on to the career best-equaling win. West Of LA finished second for Ron Pierce with That's The Plan third for Jody Jamieson. A daughter of Jenna's Beach Boy, Shanghai Lil was a Kentucky Sire Stakes champion last year at two and a third-place finisher in this year's final in early September.
