Breeding advice available

October 26, 2005

« Return to News
Standardbred Horse Sales Company has asked the noted pedigree researcher Norman Hall to evaluate all the broodmares and race mares to be sold at the 2005 Harrisburg Mixed Sale for potential breeding crosses with North American and European sires.

Hall has applied the principles he has developed for his Standardbred breeding software, Globetrotter, to make a breeding choice for each mare.

His recommendations can be accessed by clicking through the Globetrotter banner on the Downloads page of Standardbred's Black Book website at www.theblackbook.com/downloads.html.

Suggestions for many of the most popular sires standing in the eastern US and Ontario are presented in table form. Hall has also provided special search buttons for customers who may be interested in breeding to either regional North American sires or to European sires, and want special recommendations about buying appropriate mares. He will answer these queries individually by email. He will address breeding questions during the Harrisburg sale at the Globetrotter booth in the Maclay Street lobby, behind Exhibition Hall of the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex.
