Call Me Queen B romped to a 4 1/2-length victory in the heat of the $239,400 Jugette for 3-year-old filly pacers Wednesday afternoon at Delaware, Ohio. Driven by Scott Zeron, Call Me Queen Be won in 1:50.1, setting a new stakes, track and world record in the process.
LA Delight closed late to get second for driver John Campbell, making a break right at the wire. The judges posted the inquiry sign but her number remained up as she was not lapped on by third-place finisher Pure Countrym, who was parked the mile.
By virtue of her victory, Call Me Queen Be will start from post 1 in the second heat. The winner of that heat will declared the Jugette champion.
The field for the second heat has been reduced to six starters as fifth-place finisher Darlinonthebeach and eighth-place finisher Marty Party Two were scratched. I Said Diamonds had been scratched earlier, resulting in eight fillies lining up behind the gate.
