Canada's Waples to drive Saturday in France

Canada’s Randy Waples and France’s Eric Raffin, drivers of San Pail and Rapide Lebel, the respective one-two finishers in last month’s Breeders Crown Open Trot at Woodbine, will race against each other Saturday night, Dec. 3, in France as part of a competition featuring 14 drivers from 14 different countries.

The Société du Cheval Français, the organization in charge of harness racing in France, is hosting the second annual International Meeting of the French Trotter at Hippodrome Paris-Vincennes. The drivers competing in the Prix des Rencontres Internationales du Trotteur Français will also include defending champion Gerard Vergaerde of Belgium.

The race is a 2,100-meter contest for trotters. In alphabetical order by country, here is the full list of drivers scheduled to compete, with their home country, age and career wins:
