Cane Pace Field Set

Cam's Fool and American Ideal will lead a field of eight into the Labor Day final of the Cane Pace at Freehold Raceway after each captured their respective elimination divisions Saturday afternoon. Cam's Fool (Brian Sears) overtook pace-setting Jo-Pa's shark in the lane for a 1:52.3 victory while American Ideal (George Brennan) went wire to wire in 1:52.2.

In the victory by Cam's Fool, Robin Of Locksley (Eric Ledford) sat a pocket trip and finished third while Revolutionary Force (Cat Manzi) finished fourth and advanced to the final.

In the second elim, Ledford also sat a pocket trip with Royal Flush Shark and finished second, while Marced Card (Sears) was third, and the favored Village Jolt (Ron Pierce) recovered from an early break and made the final with a fourth-place finish.
