An elite group of 45 horses remain eligible to the 30th edition of the $1 million Pepsi North America Cup, one of harness racing's most prestigious events and Canada's richest harness race. The one-mile pace for 3 year olds, set for Mohawk Racetrack, is scheduled for Saturday, June 15.

Headlining the 2013 crop of nominees is Captaintreacherous, who last season became the first 2 year old to win with three sub-1:50 miles, including the Metro Pace and Woodrow Wilson.

The champion 2 year old in both Canada and the United States last year is trained by Tony Alagna and driven by Tim Tetrick. The bay son of 2008 Pepsi North America Cup champion Somebeachsomewhere banked eight wins last season and earnings of $911,687.

Rockin Amadeus ($449,607), who scored the upset victory in the last years Breeders Crown and Wake Up Peter ($287,025), who finished second in the race, are also being pointed to the "Cup."

Others named to the race that may be noted on a Top 10 list of contenders include Odds On Equuleus ($413,665) and Apprentice Hanover ($265,025).

The final sustaining payment for the race is due on May 15.  The Pepsi North America Cup eliminations, worth $50,000 each, are set for Saturday, June 8.
