The highly regarded Bob McIntosh trainee Cash Hall, a $300,000 yearling purchase, won his 2004 sophomore debut Thursday night (May 20) at Mohawk Racetrack, scoring in 1:56 as the 1-5 favorite.

Steve Condren directed the son of Self Possessed to the three-length victory. Out of the mare Chatty Hanover, Cash Hall is a half brother to the multiple stakes-winning filly Cartier Hall.

Owned by McIntosh, CSX Stable and Michael Kohler, Cash Hall was victorious in both his starts at two, and then was turned out to mature more for his sophomore campaign.

"He's big and tough and beautifully gaited. He's actually a gorgeous-gaited trotter. He can circle the turns great. He's definitely a big, rough horse. He's simply rigged. He's a natural trotter," McIntosh told The Horseman a few weeks ago.
