Centurion ATM cruised to a stakes and track record 1:53.2 en route to winning the $355,500 Peter Haughton Memorial final for two-year-old trotting colts Saturday at the Meadowlands. A $100,000 yearling purchase, the S J’s Caviar colt lowered Muscle Hill’s 2008 mark by one-fifth of a second. Uncle Lasse raced second while Cruzado Dela Noche finished third.

Racing third through a :28 opening quarter, trainer Ake Svanstedt wasted little time brushing to the lead with his charge racing to the half (:56.4). Two challengers, Canepa Hanover and Guess Whos Back, each made breaks racing on the backside and through the turn, scattering the field and setting up an easy stretch drive for the leader. Centurion ATM was on cruise control all the way to the wire to collect his second win in four starts.

Centurion ATM was bred by Eliezer Solomon and is owned by Courant A B and Knutsson Trotting Inc. The colt now has seasonal earnings of $207,364.
