Chesapeake Bay Series contested at Ocean Downs

Ocean Downs had 11 races on Wednesday night’s card with purses totaling $100,000 including the Chesapeake Bay Racing Series and The Hal Belote Memorial Final.

Jim Morand drove track champion GooGoo GaaGaa uner the wire in 1.57.3, setting a new track record for 2-year-old trotting colts. GooGoo GaaGaa is by Cam’s Rocket a pacer and out of Kora’s Trotter, obviously a trotter. The colt has won all four of his starts and now has life time earnings of $24,762 and is trained and owned by Richard L Hans.

In the fastest division of the series, George Dennis drove 6-year-old Ash Larue to a 1:53.4 track record for aged pacers. Ash Larue is trained by Jeff Clark and owned by Vernon Church.

The Chesapeake Bay Finals will be held on Aug 17th with purses totaling over $200,000. (Ocean Downs)
