Chicagoland asst. race secretary Tim Storm dies

Longtime Balmoral Park and Maywood Park assistant racing secretary Timothy James Storm, 59, of Highland, Ind., died Nov. 3.
Mr. Storm graduated from Genoa-Kingston High School and proceeded to train Standardbreds at Chicago's leading racetracks, becoming the tracks' most successful trainer of pacers and trotters in 1993.
After receiving a kidney transplant in 1992, he gave up his career of training horses to deal cards at local casinos. He most recently served as the assistant racing secretary at Balmoral and Maywood Park.
Mr. Storm's hobbies included culinary skills which he generously shared with friends and family, and was an avid Chicago Cubs and Blackhawks fan.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Diane (Dreyfus); daughter, Sarah; mother, Myrtle; brother, Paul; nieces, Summer and Whitney; and nephew, Dusty. He was preceded in death by his father, Earl; and brothers, Stanley, Greg and Howard.
