Chip Chip Mac took Friday’s featured trot at Scioto Downs with an impressive brush up the inside in the stretch to win by two lengths in 1:59.1 for driver David Myers.
The 5-year-old son of Chip Chip Hooray sat third for most of the mile and stayed in the pocket when others pulled out to challenge in the final quarter. He came from fifth to first in the stretch, overtaking pacesetting Rose Run Marcus. It was his second straight win in the first four days of Scioto’s meet.
The winner paid $46.00, $15.50, and $5.
Rose Run Marcus finished second at odds of 15-1 while Screen Saver was third.  Odds-on favorite Stretch Limo finished sixth. The 4-5 exacta paid $233.20.
Robert J. Key of Leechburg, Pa. owns the winner, who is trained by Ron Steck. It was only his second win in 15 tries this season. (Scioto)
