Chip Noble drives 5,000th winner

Sam "Chip” Noble, III, one of Ohio's and the sport's leading drivers, scored career victory 5,000 on Aug. 14 at the Troy Ohio fair, when he guided She Can Attack to win an Ohio Fair Stake in 2:02.
 
Noble, 58, a native and resident of Xenia, Ohio, is in his fifth decade of driving horses and has career earnings of $27,398,190. He scored his best earning season in 1998, when the horses he drove earned $1,260,187. He scored his best year in wins in 2002, when he brought 232 trotters and pacers back to the winner's circle.
 
Noble continues to excel each year, both in Ohio and nationally. In 2011 he had 116 winners, 100 seconds and 116 thirds from 625 starts for a UDR of .336 and $838,380 in seasonal earnings.
 
To date in 2012 he has racked up stats of 56-55-55 from 340 starts and $345,553 in earnings with a .298 UDR.
