Clear Vision's stablemate, Foiled Again ($2.80, Yannick Gingras), in pursuit of his 3rd Quillen victory, took the 2nd division with a 1:49.4 triumph. The 9-year-old Dragon Again gelding made the lead quickly from post five and strolled through fractions of 27.2, 55.3, 1:23.1 before scorching home in 26.3 for an easy win over Sapphire City, Mcerlean and Mel Mara.
Foiled Again notched his 71st lifetime win and boosted his career earnings to more than $5.3 million, further eclipsing his status as the sport's richest pacer of all-time.
The top four finishers from each division will return to compete in the $223,500 Final on Monday September 16.
In the overnight feature, Doug Lewis-trained Mojo Terror ($3.60, Tim Tetrick) registered his fourth consecutive win in the $19,000 Open.
