Two $10,000 six-horse divisions of the Maywood Pace eliminations for 3-year-old Illinois Conceived and Foaled pacing colts and geldings will be contested Friday night at Maywood Park. The top four finishers from each dash will return for the $102,000-estimated final on Friday, June 18.

Trainer Dave McCaffrey's Live Out Loud heads the first division, where he'll start from post six for driver Dale Hiteman. Live Out Loud qualified at Maywood on June 2 in a blistering 1:53 and change.

"The reason we wanted to qualify him so stiff last week was because this division is so tough," McCaffrey noted. "ML's Boy is a very nice horse and Enemy At The Gate is on the verge of becoming a great horse. A lot of these horses raced last week and my horse didn't get in, so that was the reason for the qualifier. I didn't want him to be in a position where he wasn't on his toes and as sharp as possible. What he's got in his favor is that he's a very sharp half-mile horse."

The son of Art's Conquest has $115,105 in career earnings, with eight victories in 16 lifetime starts for owners McCaffrey and M&M Harness Racing LLC of Illinois and New York. He is out of the former Illinois champion mare Incredashell.

ML's Boy will start from post two in the second division for driver Tony Morgan. The son of Sportsmaster has $34,800 in his lifetime account and won his last start at Balmoral in 1:53.4 on June 3 for owner Michael Polansky of New York.

"He's in the top of this group of 3 year olds right now," Morgan said. "He was really speed crazy last year and a big bully that was very hard to control, but this year now Tom (trainer Harmer) has him more under control and rigged as to where I can drive him. He's a big and long-gaited horse and he's the type that is hard to stop and then start up again over the smaller track. His style is more fitting of a larger oval."
