Constable is now two-for-two in qualifying efforts in 2004 as the 4-year-old son of Conway Hall won his morning attempt at The Red Mile Monday (May 24) in 1:57.4.

Constable was driven in the qualifier by Dan Shetler for trainer Bob Stewart, who co-owns with his wife, Lynda. At two, Constable finished in the money in all eight starts, including three wins. He finished the year with a win in his Breeders Crown elim and then a third in the rich final.

Last year Constable trotted to his lifetime mark of 1:54.3 while winning an open event at the Meadowlands on July 11, an effort he equaled on Sept. 19 while capturing an open at The Red Mile.

Also scoring in a qualifier was Hollywood Beauty, a 3-year-old daughter of Angus Hall. Trained by Lyle Anderson and driven by Zeller, Hollywood Beauty scored in 1:58. She competed primarily on the Ontario Sire Stakes circuit last year but in her lone trip to the U.S. she finished second to Missive Hanover in a Bluegrass division at The Red Mile.
