In the first of two divisions of the $58,705 Countess Adios for 2-year-old pacing fillies at the Meadowlands on Friday, August 5, American Jewel sparkled with a virtual wire-to-wire in a career-best 1:51 win with Tim Tetrick in the bike for owners Brittany Farms and trainer Jimmy Takter. The American Ideal filly is now a perfect three-for-three in her career.

There was a dead heat for place between Podges Lady and Blackjack Princess for place. Hallie Gallie was fourth.

In the second division, longshot Economy Terror upset the favorite Pirouette Hanover with a strong last half brush to win the second Countess Adios in !:51.4. Trained by Chris Oakes for owners Bryan Pompey and Howard Taylor, Economy Terror is now a perfect two for two in his career and posted a career-best mile in just his second start.
