Crystal Fashion and David Miller angled from the pylons and sprinted down the center of the track to capture the $280,000 John Cashman Memorial TVG free-for-all trot, sponsored by the Southwind Farms/Muscle Hill Syndicate and Jerry Silva, Saturday, August 3 at The Meadowlands. The four-year-old Cantab Hall-Window Willow gelding stopped the timer in 1:50, equaling the stakes record set by Sebastian K in 2014.

Starting from post position seven, Miller sent the Jim Campbell trainee to the top and reached the quarter in :26.3. Six Pack and Ake Svanstedt would soon brush to the front, providing cover for Crystal Fashion through fractions of :55 and 1:23.1. Six Pack would come under fire from Tim Tetrick and Guardian Angel AS, with the two trotters battling on the front. In the stretch, Miller saw an opportunity to challenge for the win, moving from the rail to daylight. Three-wide in the lane, the gelding was live late in the mile to pick up his fourth win in eight starts.

Bred by Hanover Shoe Farms, Crystal Fashion pushed his career earnings to $1.68 million, recording his 17th career win. The winning time shaved one-fifth of a second off his lifetime best. Crystal Fashion paid $18.80, $5.40 and $3.80 with the victory. The win was the second big score on the program for Jim Campbell and Fashion Farms. The trainer teamed with the owner to win the Peter Haughton Memorial with homered Real Cool Sam.
