Dancing Rusty was in perfect step as Brad Hanners guided the 9-1 shot to his third win of the day in the $13,500 featured pace over a "good" track on Sunday at Dover Downs.
Hanners made good use of leaving from post one, getting Dancing Rusty quickly away for the lead and then led at all posts for a 1:55.2 upset victory in the $15,500 feature for young male pacers. The altered son of Ponder-Graceful Motion owned by Frank Condurso and Myers Racing Stable was by followed by Windemere Royal (Frank Milby) and Jolt Demand (Jon Roberts), second and third, respectively.
A pair of $20,000 Delaware claiming paces headed the undercard. In the first division, Alton Lynch Jr.’s Western Artwork won a close 1:53.2 photo with Matt Kakaley in the bike. It was the Western Hanover gelding’s second straight win. Go Both Ways (Tony Morgan) was second by a nose with Sharky Osborne (Corey Callahan) third.
The second $20,000 claimer was taken by fast-finishing Don’t Fool Me Now closing along the passing lane to nip Sectionline Blast (Daryl Bier) by a nose in 1:55.1. The win was the second in a row for the Camotion gelding and also second of the day for driver Jim Morand, trainer Les Givens and part-owner Nanticoke Racing sharing honors with Ed Maas and Arlene Paisley. Tyrex Jimmy (Victor Kirby) was the show finisher. (Dover Downs)
