Town Temptress won her fourth Hollywood Dayton Raceway Fillies and Mares Open pace on Friday (Nov. 18), topping Endeavors Fantasy by a neck with Mystical Nectar third by that same narrow margin.  Eight of the nine mares in the talented field finished within 3-1/4 lengths of each other at the finish line.

Endeavors Fantasy (Kayne Kauffman) flashed the quickest early speed, stopping the clock in :27.1 after the first quarter mile.  Mystical Nectar (Chris Page) had yielded by was out to reassume command before the :57.2 halfway point.  Just past the half, Town Temptress (Peter Wrenn) launched her successful first-over bid inching within a head of the pacesetter at the 1:25.2 three-quarters and then using every inch of the stretch to finally wear down her opponents in 1:53.4.

Steve Bauder trains the 4-year-old daughter of Artiscape for Gail and Robert Sanders.  With the four wins in the local weekly $15,000 Friday night feature from 17 seasonal starts, Town Temptress has banked just a shade under $50,000 on the year.

Racing resumes Saturday night (Nov. 19) with a strong card including the $15,000 Open for male pacers. Post time is 6:15 p.m.
