The 3-year-old colt Dejarmbro, who is not eligible to the Hambletonian, stepped up against several Hambletonian eligibles in the Open Trot for 3-year-olds for a purse of $25,000 on Friday night at the Meadowlands.. After slow fractions through the half, driver-trainer Trond Smedshammer accelerated last year's New York Sire Stakes champion to the front, cruising to victory in 1:54.3.

Dejarmbro finished 1 1-2 lengths ahead of runner-up Whatever It Takes, who had defeated him last out in the Empire Breeder's Classic. Whit finished third.

Dejarmbro, a son of Credit Winner-Armbro Déjà Vu, now has 10 wins in 13 lifetime starts for owners Purple Haze Stables LLC of Fairport, NY. He paid $4.40 to win.

Manningly rallied to win the $32,000 Open Trot in race 7. The 5-year-old son by Yankee Glide out of Balanced Action surged to the lead under a confident hand drive by Brian Sears to win easily in 1:53.2 by 1 3-4 lengths. Bruce Saunders trains the horse for owners M&L Of Delaware Inc. of Wilmington, DE. All About Justice was second, just ahead of Lorenzo Dream who finished third. Manningly returned $5.50 to win.
