Denny Hawk dies at 58

Dennis “Denny” Hawk, a top driver at The Meadows in the mid to late 1970s, died Jan. 12 in Florida. He was 58.
 
Mr. Hawk’s last official drive in a race was on March 22, 1986, at Raceway Park. He drove 685 winners during his career.
 
At the time of his death, Mr. Hawk was an agent with Farmers Insurance.
 
He is survived by his mother, Delores Arthur, and step-father, Roger Arthur; a son, Brian; two grandsons, Matthew and William; two brothers, Robert and Keith; three sisters, Jenelle Griesinger, Bonita Lenhart and Lynnette Gerace; a step-brother, Dennis Arthur; three step-sisters, Carol Clum, Deborah Yoakum and Barabara Gudakunst; and nine nieces and nephews.
 
Friends may visit Thursday from 4-7 pm at at the Spence-Miller Funeral Home in Grove City, Ohio.
 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Buckeye Ranch or charity of one’s choice.
