Despite listed at Pompano, Napolitano not driving

"He's definitely not driving at Pompano Sunday night,” Kathy Napolitano told harnessracing.com Wednesday afternoon when she heard the question asked of her husband George over the speakerphone while in the car near their Pennsylvania home.
George Napolitano Jr., who was surpassed for the North American dash lead by Aaron Merriman on Tuesday night, said before and after last Sunday's closing-day card at Harrah's Philadelphia that he would take off the remainder of 2015. No matter how the standings stood in a neck-and-neck race for the title with Merriman. And while Napolitano was listed on two Chris Oakes-trained horses on Sunday at Pompano Park, he—and his wife—reiterated to harnessracing.com that he will not be climbing into the sulky again until early next year.
"While I may want to, and it's not in me to not have that desire, I am not going to drive on Sunday,” said Napolitano. "I had talked to Chris (Oakes) and he wanted me to fly down on Sunday and drive, but our son (Kristopher) is in school until Friday and we have things to do around here.”
