Downbytheseaside, the richest racehorse of 2017, is now booked full and closed for 2018.
"We are in the enviable position of being oversubscribed," said Joe McLead of Sugar Valley Farm in Ohio, where the now 3 year old will stand in 2018 in partnership with Diamond Creek Farms. "We are proud to be part of this horse and to have him here in Ohio."
The world champion Downbytheseaside wrapped up his racing career with a win in the Hap Hansen Progress Pace, tying his lifetime mark of 1:48.3. He tops all racehorses with $1,602,452 in earnings this year and earned $2,179,558 over his lifetime.
"The response for the horse has been outstanding, especially the support from the Ohio breeders," said Adam Bowden of Diamond Creek Farms. "We are all very excited about the future." (Sugar Valley Farm)
