Suspended driver Eric Ledford submitted his application to be re-licensed in New Jersey on Wednesday afternoon at Freehold Raceway and on Thursday his status was approved by the New Jersey Racing Commission (NJRC).

Ledford, along with his father, Seldon, and three others were arrested March 31, 2006 on charges of possession of Aranesp and other illegal substances. Ledford was ultimately given a fine and one-year suspension by the NJRC, which expired March 31, 2007. However, because Ledford was given a fine and one-year probationary period on the criminal charges by the state, the commission declined to re-license him until that timeframe had concluded.

NJRC deputy director Mike Vukcevich told harnessracing.com on Wednesday afternoon that his office had received a copy of the court order stating Ledford\'s probationary period had expired, thus the re-licensing process was expected.
