Duneside Perch coasted to a stakes record 1:50.2 win in the $175,000 New Jersey Sire Stakes Championship for two-year-old pacing colts on Thursday night at the Meadowlands.

Driver Ron Pierce hustled Duneside Perch to the lead before the half and the colt pulled away to a two and a quarter-length win in the evening\'s fifth race. Cold Cape Cod drafted behind Duneside Perch the whole way and held second, while Perseus, the winner\'s stablemate, was third.

Coupled in the wagering, Duneside Perch and Perseus paid $2.40, $2.10 and $2.10. Cold Cape Cod returned $2.10 and $2.10.

A son of Cam\'s Card Shark, Duneside Perch is now perfect in three starts for trainer George Teague Jr. He was a $45,000 yearling purchased by Teague, his sister, Brenda, and Patrick and Marianne Callahan, who race as Only Money Inc. of Hartly, Delaware.
