Duramax return cancelled

August 06, 2004

Chevie Duramax was intended to make his long awaited 2004 debut Saturday night at Hazel Park Raceway, but was forced to scratch. Expected to be one of this year's leading 3-year-old pacers, Chevie Duramax broke a bone while wintering at a Kentucky farm, an injury which delayed his sophomore return.

Chevie Duramax, who set a world record for 2-year-old geldings last year with a 1:50.3 victory at Balmoral Park, was entered in a $5,900 conditioned event at Hazel Park, but due to the fact that he had too many pari-mutuel wins, he was forced to scratch Friday morning.
