Eye infection slows down Tetrick, but he\'ll drive Friday

After missing the last two days of racing due to an eye infection, Tim Tetrick has told harnessracing.com he plans on driving at the Meadowlands Friday night, with his 12 mounts including Celebrity Secret in the $350,000 Stanley Dancer final and One Tough Lass in the $300,000 Delvin Miller final.
“It started hurting a little bit (Tuesday) and that night it really started hurting,” said Tetrick, who last drove at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs on Tuesday afternoon. “I couldn’t see out of it and the light hurt it. It’s getting better. I’m working tonight one way or another.”
Tetrick also is scheduled to drive 11 horses on Saturday at the Big M, including Weekend Gambler, Upfront Hannahsboy and Sand Shooter in the eliminations for the $1.1 million Meadowlands Pace. He also has drives behind Artistic Fella in the $600,000 William Haughton Memorial and Buck I St. Pat in the $100,000 Perretti Matchmaker.
Tetrick, 26, is coming off a record-breaking year in which he won 1,189 races and $18,350,047 in purse earnings. He currently has 535 victories (second behind Tony Morgan) and $9,252,391 in earnings (first on that list).
“The year’s been OK,” he said. “I’m stilling doing a lot of running. It’s not as much as last year, but it’s a lot.”
