The undefeated See You At Peelers took the $601,000 Fan Hanover final in stakes equalling time at Mohawk, Saturday night. The only victory that might have been this easy on North America Cup night was when Won The West ran off to capture the $100,000 Mohawk Gold Cup in 1:47.2, equaling Primetime Bobcat's all-time Canadian record.

As for See You At Peelers, she picked up her 18th win in as many career outings. The Jimmy Takter-trained Bettor's Delight filly won in easy fashion in 1:50, three lengths ahead of Krispy Apple. The sophomore filly shares the Fan Hanover stakes record with the 2009 winner Not Enough.

As for this year's edition, Idyllic (Dave Miller) was on the lead going into the first turn. See You At Peelers (Brian Sears) made a bid for the front and cut the opening panel in :27.2. The duo held the lead through fractions of :55.3 and 1:23.2 as driver Tim Tetrick pulled Krispy Apple first over from fourth and tried to
apply pressure to the 1-5 favorite.

The 5-2 second choice, Krispy Apple, couldn’t catch See You At Peelers as she opened up on the field in the stretch. Idyllic was third.

See You At Peelers's victory also made her harness racing’s newest millionaire. She now sports career earnings of $1,199,353 for owners Christina Takter of East Windsor, New Jersey and John and Jim Fielding of Toronto.

As for Won The West, driver David Miller sent him to the front going to the half after the first quarter was passed in :25.4. He broke the beam at the half (:53.2) and then roared to the three-quarter station in 1:19.3 before coasting home in :27.4 for a a 2 3/4-length victory.

"I wasn't going for a track record," said Miller, "but I kind of made up my mind to test him tonight."

Won The West posted his 34th career victory. The 7-year-old gelding by Western Hanover is trained by Ron Burke.
