Faust Blue Chip picked a most opportune time to win his first career race, pacing to a 1:53 victory in the first of two $156,000 International Stallion Stakes divisions for freshman colt and gelding pacers at The Red Mile Friday afternoon.

With John Campbell driving, Faust Blue Chip rallied around the final turn to take the lead, then holding off the late bid by Shark Gesture and driver George Brennan to win at odds of 24-1. Armbro Dynamic finished third for Jack Moiseyev.

A son of Artsplace, Faust Blue Chip is trained by Gregg McNair, who also co-owns with Leonard Gamble, David Kryway and Don MacDonald. With earnings of $41,612 coming into the race, he increased that number to $119,612 with the victory.
