Fillies win NJSS at Freehold

Mystical Sunshine wired a field of 3-year-old New Jersey Sire Stakes filly trotters at Freehold Raceway Thursday afternoon (Aug. 26), winning in 2:00 for driver Ron Pierce by one length over In The Shell. Olympics picked up the Bronze medal for this contest.



Alvin Jacobsen and Sidney Korn own the Yankee Glide filly trained by Chris Ryder. She won the Elegantimage Trot at Woodbine earlier this year and has six victories in 13 starts and $442,337 in earnings for the year.



In the other Sire Stakes division Almond Joy scored her first victory of the year with a lifetime best 1:58.1 mile. Jacquline Ingrassia, who co-owns the Enjoy Lavec filly with Arden Homestead Stable, was in the bike. Frank Ingrassia is the trainer.
