The Casual Breeze stakes marked the 2004 debut of Peaceful Way, who had won eight of nine starts going into last year's Breeders Crown 2-Year-Old Filly Trot, when a break spoiled her appearance. But in the Casual Breeze the filly broke stride again.

Peaceful Way started from post position two but broke stride going to the three-quarter mark in her Casual Breeze division. Driven by her regular driver, Chris Christoforou, she finished last in the race.

Instead, Miss Michelle H, a daughter of King Conch trained and driven by Rod Allen, won by a handy four lengths in 1:55.2. Joe and Joann Thomson and the Carl and Rod Allen Stable own the filly.

A total of five divisions were required for the Casual Breeze. The other winners were Sunshinenlollipops, who was placed first when Shannon Hall was placed ninth for causing confusion between the half and the three-quarter mark, while she was leading the field. Rick Zeron trains, drives and co-owns Sunshinenlollipops, a daughter of Garland Lobell.

Another winner was Zorgwijk Emani, a filly by Valleymeister who has the same connections as the top pacing mare Burning Point. She won by 1 1/2 lengths in 1:55.4 for driver Kevin Wallis. The final split waas won by Ifhallscouldtalk, a filly by Angus Hall, in 1:55.2.
