Fox winner Lonestar Legend sidelined

Fox Stake champion Lonestar Legend raced a disappointing eighth in the $1 million Metro at Mohawk Raceway on Sept. 1. According to trainer Don Swick, there is a good reason why the
Western Hanover colt didn’t race up to par; he flipped his palate.
“We thought he might have had a problem at
,” Swick stated. “He probably would have been better off in the (Metro) consolation. That one in there (winner Somebeachsomewhere) is just a monster.” Indianapolis
Swick, who conditions the colt for owners Royal Wire Products, Inc. of
North Royalton, Ohio and United Process Control Company of , said Lonestar Legend has already undergone surgery and will be sidelined for two weeks. Once back in action, the freshman has only a few starts remaining this season. Somerville, N.J.
