The amateur drivers in the popular C.K.G. Billings series came to central Ohio to compete on Wednesday and the crowd at Scioto Downs was treated to some nice miles by the trotters.

The first division went to the Franco-American bred Canaco Olymed, whose sire Victory Force is a son of Valley Victory and whose dam Hegemonie Wood represents some of the best French trotting blood.

Canaco Olymed scored in 1:58 for Bob Troyer over favored Colonel Talbot and Brent Davis. Colonel Talbot was parked through fast fractions and still beaten only a half-length. The 48-1 longshot Easy Chaser was third.

The other Billings division went to Keystone Samantha, a 7-year-old daughter of Lindy Lane trained and driven by William Bercury. She led all the way and easily defeated favored Tactical Advantage and Cobrador Kosmos. (Scioto Downs)
