Ohio Sires Stakes action continues this week with four $40,000 divisions for 2-year-old trotting fillies on Thursday evening at Scioto Downs. First race post time is 6:30 p.m.

Ohio-based stallions represented in these contests include 11 foals by Uncle Peter, six by Triumphant Caviar, five by Break The Bank K and three by the ill-fated Cash Hall.  As well, the stallions And Away We Go, Broadway Hall, Coraggioso, Dejarmbro, Dontyouforgetit, Lionhunter and Manofmanymissions are all represented by two foals each, while Deep Chip, My MVP, Stormin Normand and Team Six have one foal each racing in these OSS events.

Returning for this second round of the four-leg series are five Leg One winners, including Delovely, who scored a 1:57.3 triumph on July 3 at Northfield Park in rein to Aaron Merriman.  Trained by Chris Beaver for owner Renee Bercury of Slippery Rock, PA, the Cash Hall filly owns a bankroll of $21,550 and starts from post one in the fourth OSS division (Race 11). Out of the Amigo Hall mare Daylon Mystique, Delovely Hall was a $65,000 purchase at the Lexington Select Yearling Sale and was bred by Walnut Hall and partners.  She is the fifth foal out of her dam and is a half-sister to Dancer Hall (by Deweycheatunmnhowe) 5, 1:51.1s ($326570) and to Manatlas (by EL Titan) 3, 1:54.4s ($22,774).

Beaver will also harness Lima Gold in the third division (Race 8), with Ronnie Wrenn, Jr., driving from post five.  The Coraggioso filly trotted to 1:58.3 clocking in her career debut in Leg One on July 3 at Northfield Park for this same driver.  Owned by Spaaaartners of Ballston Spa, N.Y., Lima Gold is the third and most successful foal out of the Jailhouse Jess mare Lima Halo 3, 1:59.3 ($16,268). She was bred by Willis Miller of Ohio.

Globetrotting, a Manofmanymissions lass, also returns after winning leg one at Northfield Park on July 3 in 1:57.3 for driver Anthony MacDonald and trainer Jason McGinnis.  Owned by Thestable Globetrotting of Guelph, Ont., Canada, Globetrotting earned that victory via a wire-to-wire route.  She was a $21,000 purchase at the Ohio Select Yearling Sale and is the fifth foal out of the Andover Hall mare Celebrity Deville 3, 1:54.3S ($338,744), making her a half-sister to Lima Cadillac (by Yankee Gilde) 3, Q1:54.4f ($93,210); Lima Charisma (by Muscle Hill) 3, 1:55.1f ($75,960); Iwantmytwodollars (by Muscle Hill) 4, 1:57.1h ($47,456); and Cruella DeVille (by Yankee Gilde) 3, 1:57.3f ($31,126).  Bred by Steiner Stock Farm, Globetrotting starts from post nine in the third division (Race 8).

Trainer McGinnis also sends out 1:59.4 Leg one winner Compass Rose DC from post seven in the second OSS division (Race 4).  Steered by James MacDonald in that triumph, the daughter by Uncle Peter is making just her second career start in this OSS contest for Thestable Compass Rose DC of Guelph, Ont., Canada.  Bred by Steiner Stock Farm, Compass Rose DC brought down the hammer for $16,000 at the Ohio Select Yearling Sale last fall.  She is the seventh foal out of the Andover Hall mare Pacific Legacy 2, Q2:02.3F ($13,727), with half-siblings in: Lima Playmate (by Credit Winner) 2, 1:57s ($265,755); Lima Pride (by Muscle Massive) 3, 1:56.4f ($105,746); Lima Playtime (by Credit Winner) 2, 1:59.4h ($44,390); Bosak 4, 2:00.2h ($43,038); and Pacific Pander (by Chapter Seven) 3, 1:59.4f ($13,375).

Spend That Money—who won Leg one at Northfield Park on July 3 in 1:58.3—is another McGinnis trainee who starts from post five in the first division (Leg One) with James MacDonald at the lines.  This Uncle Peter lass has $23,100 in her coffers, as she also won a 2-year-old overnight at Northfield Park on June 26 in 2:01.1 for these connections.  She is the first foal out of the Muscles Yankee mare Spend It In and was bred by the Cornerstone Stock Farm of Indiana, bringing a price tag of $11,500 from the 2018 Ohio Select Yearling Sale.
