Georgia Pacific, owned by Randy Bendis, Susan Castelli, John Campbell and William Varney, returned for his 4-year-old campaign with an impressive 1:55.3 open-length victory in a qualifier at The Meadows Tuesday morning.

Having not raced since his victory on Dec. 6, 2004, in the Matron Stakes at Dover Downs in 1:49.1, Georgia Pacific was not used hard in the qualifier and won without much urging from first-time driver Tony Hall.

From post position five, Hall placed the Coors Delvin Miller Adios runner-up on the front to an opening quarter of :28.1. As they reached the half-mile marker, Georgia Pacific had the lead by about 12 lengths and tripped the timer at :57.4. Hall let Georgia Pacific pace his third quarter mile in :29 to stop the timer at 1:26.4 at the three-quarters. As they turned for home, Hall pulled the ear plugs and Georgia Pacific responded with a final quarter in :28.4.
