Golden Receiver wires field in US Pacing Championship

Golden Receiver and driver Andy Miller wired the field in the US Pacing Championship Saturday at the Meadowlands, winning the $242,500 in a time of 1:48. The seven year old was followed closely across the wire by co-favorite Aracache Hanover. Meirs Hanover was third.
Starting from the rail, Miller and Golden Receiver hustled away from the gate in front of We Will See, firing from post eight to drop in second. Setting fractions of :26.2, :54.1 and 1:21.1, the son of Village Jove controlled the pace leading into the stretch. There, Miller and his horse held Aracache Hanover and George Brennan at bay.
Trained by Mark Harder for Stable 45, Richard Taylor, Stephen Springer and breeder Nina Simmonds, Golden Receiver earned his 11th win in 18 starts this season. The gelding has earned nearly $530,000 this season and nearly $1.2 million in his career.
