Standardbred breeder and owner Mike Gulotta has written a letter about harness racing's contributions to New Jersey that appears in Sunday's Newark Star-Ledger, and on its website, nj.com.
Gulotta, who operates Deo Volente Farms in New Jersey and has owned such notable horses as Lis Mara, says the state should privatize the Meadowlands Racetrack in 2011. Gulotta and others have been working on plans for making a 2011 harness meet at the Meadowlands profitable, and strategizing for long-term vitality for the Standardbred industry in New Jersey.
