In a story published in today's HarnessRacing Weekend Preview, a quote from Meadowlands owner Jeff Gural regarding trainer exclusions was misinterpreted. While associate editor Gordon Waterstone believed Gural to be talking about an overall change next year, Gural was instead referring to making a change in the policy that would in fact enforce the rules and not allow for horses to change barns in order to race at the Meadowlands, as was the case this week with two horses competing on Saturday's card in stakes races.

In the published quote, Gural said he planned "to revisit the policy going forward" regarding horses given to trainers excluded from racing at the Meadowlands. While Gural said those trainers "should probably be allowed to race," it should have read "shouldn't probably be allowed to race." Gural meant that if this weekend's situation regarding trainer changes of Springsteen and Lady Shadow happens in the future, he would decline the request.

"I will never back down on this," he said.
