The box closes on Friday, June 28 for reservations to attend the annual Harness Racing Hall of Fame Induction Ceremonies and Dinner. This is harness racing’s most important event of the year so don’t get shut out! Call 845-294-6330 and make your reservations today! As this is a catered event, we cannot guarantee accommodation of last minute reservations. 2013 honorees are: Living Hall of Fame – Bob Quigley, Dick Stillings, Bettor’s Delight, Grand Lady, Lady Ashlee Ann, Life Sign and Michelle’s Jackpot; Immortals – Frank Caton, William Wellwood, Baltic Speed, Carty Nagle, Flicka Frost, Overtrick, The Abbe and Walter Dear; Communicators’ Hall of Fame – Bob "Hollywood” Heyden and Sam McKee. Pinnacle Award Honoree Rich Johnston, 2013 Museum’s Amateur Driving Champion Bob Hechkoff and 2012 Horse of the Year Chapter Seven will also be recognized.
Hall of Fame Weekend is full of great activities for the harness racing fan. From Thursday July 4 through Sunday July 7, post time is 1:00 p.m. at Historic Track for afternoons of superb racing complete with the traditional fair atmosphere. On Sunday, Hall of Fame Day, July 7, the Hall of Fame Invitational Trot in memory of Mr. & Mrs. Elbridge T. Gerry, Sr. is the featured race. Slated to drive in this annual competition are Hall of Famers including John Campbell (1990), Jimmy Doherty (2002), Herve Filion (1975), Wally Hennessey (2006), Mike Lachance (1995), Dave Palone (2009), Ron Pierce (2004) and this year’s inductee Dick Stillings.
