Standardbred Canada (SC) has announced Canada\'s first-ever national Standardbred Handicapping Championship, which will begin in March and take place at racetracks across the country in regional qualifying events, before a final held at Woodbine in early November.
Kathy Wade Vlaar, SC\'s manager of marketing, said 15 racetracks in seven different provinces have already committed to hosting regional events; only players who earned their way through a regional contest will be eligible to compete in the final.
Wade added that although a final prize pool is not yet established, she has hopes for it to reach $50,000.
