The Harness Racing Museum & Hall of Fame, as part of Smithsonian magazine's ninth annual Museum Day Live! on Saturday Sept. 28, will conduct a drawing for "The Glorious Standardbred,” a limited series of porcelain statuettes including Hambletonian, Dan Patch, Greyhound and Niatross by noted artist Bev Lopez. Visitors presenting a Museum Day Live! ticket at the time of admission will be entered to win.

A nationwide event, Museum Day Live! offers free admission to visitors presenting a Museum Day Live! ticket at participating museums or cultural institutions. The Harness Racing Museum, in conjunction with the United States Trotting Association is proud to provide everyday free general admission, welcoming visitors from around the world.

Inclusive by design, the Museum Day Live! event represents Smithsonian's commitment to make learning and the spread of knowledge accessible to everyone, giving museums across all 50 states the opportunity to emulate the admission policy of the Smithsonian museums in Washington, D.C. Last year's event drew over 400,000 participants, and this year's event expects record-high participation.

"Museum Day Live! is a great way to encourage visitation and introduce the many wonderful museums and cultural institutions our nation has to offer to folks who haven't yet discovered how much fun museums can be,” said Harness Racing Museum spokesperson John Mayo.

The Harness Racing Museum & Hall of Fame brings the excitement, history and pageantry of the American-born sport of harness racing alive. Fun interactive exhibits and the world's only 3-D harness racing simulator, mix seamlessly with beautiful works of art and historic artifacts to tell the story of a sport born on the city streets and country lanes of a young America.
