Harrisburg yearling sale drops from 4 to 3 days

Standardbred Horse Sales Company has announced that its 2016 annual sale at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg will change from its previously announced format. Three yearling sale days will be held on Monday, Nov. 7, through Wednesday, Nov. 9. The mixed portion of the sale will be held on Thursday, Nov. 10, and Friday, Nov. 11.
This change is necessary because of conflicts with the $1.2 million TVG Finals at the Meadowlands and the eliminations for multiple 2-year-old stakes at Woodbine that weekend, and because of a reduction in sale entries as a result of overall contraction of the breeding industry. The Standardbred Horse Sales Company expects to catalog approximately 900 top quality yearlings for the yearling sale in 2016. (Standardbred Horse Sales Company)
