Up Front Jerry went wire to wire in 1:51.4 and Allamerican Inca followed cover before pulling away in the stretch for a 1:52.1 victory in eliminations for the Max C. Hempt Memorial at Pocono Downs Saturday night.

Up Front Jerry, a 3-year-old Western Hanover gelding driven by Dave Palone, paced fractions of :26.3, :55.1 and 1:23.1 en route to his second win of the year in three starts for trainer Kelly O'Donnell and owner Ed Mullinax. But to score the win Up Front Jerry had to hold off P-Forty-Seven and Jeff Gregory, who finished second by a nose with Superbe Character and Steve Smith one-half length back in third.

Allamerican Inca, fourth at the half behind outside cover, overtook Up Front Tornado in the lane and scored a 2-length victory over With Anticipation and Patrick Berry in his season debut. Syncro's Z tam and Steve Smith were third.

Palone was also at the lines of this winner, also a Western Hanover gelding owned by Adam Victor and son and trained by Brendan Johnson.
