It's not a foursome of Tiger Woods, Vijay Singh, Phil Mickelson and Sergio Garcia, but a quartet of horsemen Joe Holloway, John Campbell, Brett Bittle and Steve Elliott on the golf course makes for a pretty competitive bunch. The four, along with eight others, including Jack Darling, Dan Creighton and Dan Bittle, are participating this week in a Florida golf outing sponsored by Yankeeland Farms.

The 12 horsemen began their "mini-tournament" on Monday, Dec. 1, two days after the Breeders Crown extravaganza at the Meadowlands. They will play five different courses over the five days, all in the Orlando and Daytona Beach area.

"And if it snows (up north), we're talking about extending it," said Holloway with a laugh by cell phone Wednesday morning (Dec. 3) as he was on his way to the course of the day near Daytona.

Holloway said cash prizes are available on a daily basis, and after the first two days of competition Darling is atop the leaderboard.

"There is a couple of hundred (dollars) available each day," said Holloway, who started three horses in the Breeders Crowns, with his best finish coming with 2-Year-Old Colt Pace runner-up Modern Art. "There are skins games and all kinds of games. And everybody plays between each other besides that. So far it's not helping my income too much, it's going the other way. I'm not playing too well."
