The New York Sires Stakes (NYSS) returned for its first events of 2020 with two divisions for 3-year-old trotting fillies at Tioga Downs Casino and Resort on Sunday, June 21. Hypnotic AM and Love A Good Story both returned to action to score in their first starts after stand-out sophomore campaigns.
Last year’s defending NYSS champion Hypnotic AM was undefeated in NYSS action as a freshman and won her 3-year-old debut to take one of two $55,000 divisions in 1:54.2. Hypnotic AM is a daughter of Chapter Seven. It was her eighth career victory in 10 starts.

Hypnotic AM, who is owned by Courant Inc. and trained by Marcus Melander, was steered to victory by regular driver Brian Sears. Reba Blue Chip (Verlin Yoder) was second. Munster (Andrew McCarthy) finished third.

Love A Good Story and Andy Miller breezed to an easy win in the other $55,000 NYSS division. She cut the mile as the heavy favorite and never looked back on the way to her 1:53 victory. No Mas Drama (Joe Bongiorno) tried to run her down but had to settle for second best. Without A Warning (Scott Zeron) was third.

Love A Good Story is also by Chapter Seven. She is trained by Julie Miller for owners Pinske Stable, Kentuckiana Racing Stable and Daniel Plouffe. She now has eight career wins and more than $260,000 in earnings.(NYSS)
