Ideal News rolled to her seventh victory in nine starts this year, capturing a $36,650 division of the New Jersey Sire Stakes for driver avid Miller in 1:52.2 Friday at the Meadowlands. In a second division of the Sire Stakes, Felicia Scott scored a neck victory for driver George Brennan over the pacesetting Dream Are Great in 1:52.

In her first start since winning the $200,000 Miss New Jersey May 28, Ideal News handily defeated the filly who owns one of the two victories over her and was second to her by a neck in the Miss New Jersey final.

Cabrini Hanover, a world champion last year with a 1:51 mile at Woodbine, was third.

Brittany Farms and Val D'Or Farms bred and own the winning Western Hanover lass trained by Joe Holloway.

Felicia Scott's victory in the second division was a career best by 2 1/5 seconds and her second of the year in seven starts for the daughter of Cam's Card Shark. Ross Croghan trains for Arthur Rudolph, the Rudolph Stables and Bernard Owen.
