Driver Don Irvine was taken off all his mounts at Indiana Downs Sunday afternoon (July 4) after he failed the breathalyzer test. Indiana Racing Commission presiding judge Tim Schmitz said Irvine would most likely be fined $500, which covers the $50 fee in each race to make the driver change. Also, a horse Irvine trains, Mr. Punch, scheduled to compete in race 10, was scratched.
