Cold temperatures didn't stop the opening of the 2004 racing season at Saratoga Raceway in New York. The track raced its scheduled card despite the fact that temperatures were below zero for the entire card and eventually dropped to 12 below before sunrise.

Despite the cold, racing went on with short post parades and one horse even turned in a 2:00 mile. Itsyourluckyday made the best of the situation by winning in 2:00 for driver Brian Cross.

By the way, the record low for this date in Saratoga is 18 below zero in 1957.
