Jans Luck, a recent convert to the joys of the “Lightning Lane,” used that path successfully Friday at The Meadows when she captured the $25,000 Filly & Mare Preferred Handicap Pace for the second straight week.
Accustomed to racing on the lead, Jans Luck was pocketed on Oct. 24 for Dave Palone but poured through the Lightning Lane to triumph over Vysoke Tatry. The date changed but the style and the results didn’t as Jans Luck and Palone again downed the hard-luck Vysoke Tatry, scoring by a neck in 1:52.3. Tidewaterdragonfly finished third.
Mickey Burke trains Jans Luck for Sylvia Burke, Weaver Bruscemi LLC, JJK Stables and M1 Stable. The 4-year-old daughter of Camluck-Jans Scooter has won 12 of 26 starts this year and has earned $486,428 in her career. (The Meadows)
